New Delhi: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has secured a 300 MW solar power project with an energy storage component at a tariff of ₹3.09 per unit in an e-reverse auction conducted by NHPC Limited.
The auction was part of NHPC’s tender for the selection of solar power developers for 1,200 MW of ISTS-connected solar power projects with energy storage systems.
The tender, which allowed developers to set up projects on an anywhere-in-India basis, included provisions for 600 MW/1200 MWh energy storage systems.
Under the Request for Selection (RFS) conditions, NTPC REL will establish an Energy Storage System (ESS) with a capacity of 150 MW/300 MWh.
The e-reverse auction concluded on January 23, 2025, and NTPC REL is awaiting the issuance of the Letter of Award (LOA) from NHPC Limited.
