Mumbai: Amplus Solar, a Gurugram-based distributed energy company, is planning to commission the on-site solar-wind-battery project by 2025 in Gujarat, its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Sharad Pungalia, told ETEnergyWorld.

“We are planning to commission India’s first on-site solar-wind-battery project next year. The plant is currently in an advanced stage of construction,” he said.

He said that the plant is part of their 600-MW onsite portfolio.

“The plant is being set up in Gujarat and will be a mix of 8.8 MW solar, 22 MW wind, and a 19.5 MWh battery storage system… By integrating the three energy technologies, the project aims to deliver firm and dispatchable power from an onsite project for the client,” he said.

Pungalia added that the company plans to replicate this model in the future.

“The company did not share details of the project, including the name of the client and the investment planned for it.”

He further informed that the firm has no fixed targets for 2025 with respect to capacity addition numbers and is currently working towards over 300 MW of projects in the pipeline. Any additional projects will depend on strategic alignment with their goals, he said.

On the recent issue of import duties in solar equipment, he added that the company stands in support of the industry seeking reversal of import duties on solar power items.

He further informed that the solar firm has no plans to enter the solar manufacturing sector.

Amplus Solar is a member of the Gentari Group, Malaysia, and manages a portfolio of over 2.1 GW of operational and under construction distributed solar assets comprising 650 projects spread across India.
