New Delhi: Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) announced the appointment of Gajanan Sampatrao Kale as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective from 19 April 2024. Tata Power-DDL serves a population of 7 million in North Delhi.
Kale has previously served as CEO of TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited from 2021 to 2024 and Tata Power Ajmer Distribution Ltd from 2018 to 2020. He rejoins Tata Power-DDL, having first joined the Tata Power group in 2003 and previously working in various capacities within the company, including leading projects focused on operations transformation and network revamping.
On his appointment, Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, said, “I welcome Gajanan as the new CEO of Tata Power-DDL. With his extensive experience in the distribution domain, I am confident that he will lead Tata Power DDL to new heights of success.”
Sanjay Banga, President (T&D), Tata Power, also commented, “Gajanan is a seasoned distribution sector professional with proven track record. I am sure that under his leadership Tata Power DDL will continue to set new benchmarks in the industry.”
Kale expressed his enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I am honoured to join Tata Power-DDL and thankful to the board for appointing me as the CEO. Tata Power-DDL has a rich legacy of technological advancements and excellence in the power distribution sector, and I am committed to building on that legacy.”
Kale holds an M.Tech in Integrated Power Systems from the National Institute of Technology, Nagpur University and a B.E. degree in Electrical Power Systems from Amravati University. He also holds an MBA in Finance and is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, where he completed an Advanced Management Program.
