RECPDCL hands over Odisha power transmission project SPV to Tata Power, ET EnergyWorld


Gurugram: REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Ltd under the Ministry of Power, handed over the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), ERES-XXXIX Power Transmission Ltd, to Tata Power Company Ltd.

Tata Power emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) for the project through a Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, which served as the Bid Process Coordinator. The project is being developed on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The project includes setting up a 765/400 kV, 2×1500 MVA GIS substation at Gopalpur in Odisha, constructing 199 km of 765 kV transmission lines, and 25 km of 400 kV transmission lines, along with related works. It is targeted for completion by December 2027.

The handover ceremony saw RECPDCL CEO T.S.C. Bosh transferring the SPV to Tarun Katiyar, CEO of Tata Power Trading Company Ltd, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, Tata Power, and Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd.
