New Delhi: Gensol Engineering Limited, in partnership with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd., has won a 237 MW annual capacity bid under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for setting up an electrolyser manufacturing plant. The bid was awarded through a competitive tender by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The Gensol-Matrix consortium’s total secured capacity now stands at 300 MW, including a previous 63 MW awarded in the first tranche of the SECI tender. This success brings the total PLI incentive to Rs 450 crore.
The PLI scheme, issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, is a key component of India’s strategy to produce 5 million metric tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030. Electrolysers, essential for green hydrogen production, are central to this mission.
“Winning this PLI capacity under the National Green Hydrogen Mission is a testament to our commitment and technical capabilities,” said Anmol Jaggi, Managing Director, Gensol Engineering Ltd.
Chirag Kotecha, Whole-time Director, Matrix Gas and Renewables Ltd., said, “Winning the PLI bid for this prestigious project amidst stiff competition highlights our technological expertise and manufacturing experience as the Gensol-Matrix consortium.”
Both companies, promoted by common stakeholders, will continue their collaboration in the green hydrogen sector, leveraging their expertise to contribute to India’s decarbonization goals.
