New Delhi: Petronet LNG Ltd reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 1,142 crore for the first quarter of FY 2024-25, marking a 45% increase from the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the company said.
It added that the revenue from operations rose to Rs 13,415 crore in the April-June quarter, up 15% from Rs 11,656 crore in the year-earlier period.
“The company was able to achieve higher throughput and robust financial results owing to stable liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices, better capacity utilization of its terminals, and efficiency in its operations,” Petronet said in a statement.
The LNG processor and distributor processed a total of 262 TBTU of LNG in the quarter, a 14% increase over Q1 FY 2023-24. The Dahej terminal, specifically, processed 248 TBTU, translating to a capacity utilization of 109%.
Pre-tax profits (PBT) for the quarter stood at Rs 1,520 crore, which is a 53% increase from the previous quarter and a 43% increase from the same period last year. The growth in PBT and PAT this quarter is the highest ever recorded by the company in the first quarter of any previous financial years.
