Talagi magic just what Eels need
So, this is why everyone out Parramatta way is so excited by Blaize Talagi. A brilliant step gives Parramatta a much-needed try just six minutes before the break. The manner in which Talagi was able to beat Ezra Mam was just what the Eels – and their fans – needed. Broncos lead 12-8 after 34 minutes.

Mariner does the business out wide
The Central Coast Mariners are playing in the A-League at Allaianz Stadium tonight, but Deine Mariner is the first ocean-goer to score tonight. He has speed to burn and he showed it right there. Great work young man. Parramatta’s bright start now looks like it was all for nothing. Broncos lead 12-2 after 22 minutes

Ezra and Reece combine – Eels pay
A poor pass from Ethan Sanders results in a try to Reece Walsh some 90 metres away. After another Eels attacking raid amounts to nothing, the Broncos pounce (can a Bronco even do that?). Mam picks up a loose ball, ran a way and then finds Reece Walsh. Shut the gate. Brisbane lead 6-2 after 18 minutes
Horror moment for Talagi – but Eels escape
Rookie Eels fullback Blaize Talagi won’t want to relive that one. He over ran a bomb, then lost his footing. Selwyn Cobbo cashed in and scored, but luckily for Talagi, Brisbane forward Brendan Piakura off-side. That’s just poor attention to detail from Piakura. Eels lead 2-0 after 14 minutes
